Although we are the height of Mango season, Bananas grow all year round.  I had never really looked closely at a banana plant until I took over 500 pictures of them. The banana block here at TREC has more than 30 varieties of bananas and the ones shown here are 'FHIA02'.  I am frequently amazed at how beautiful and erotic this plant can be.  The shooting flowers can be spectacular sites that warrant the same kind of beauty and sexuality as the orchid.
