Mangos are this month’s focus and I have already sampled over 50 varieties from the TREC collection. ‘Hayden’ has been better this year then any other year for me. I love its beautiful color and flavorful flesh. ‘Julie’ is another surprise as I don’t remember it being noteworthy in the years before. Although ‘Julie’ is small in sized, it has a powerful aromatic taste with deep orange colored flesh and fiberless texture. ‘Glenn’ has been excellent as usual and I must have collected over 200 'Glenn' fruits off the ground from the 4 trees planted in the collection. I compared it to Easter egg hunting as ‘Glenn’ mangos are just a little bigger then eggs and reminiscent of the beautiful tones of this holiday.
